Thai wedding traditions are deeply rooted in respect, family connection, and symbolic meaning. As an Australian Thai wedding celebrant based in Melbourne, I support couples who wish to honour Thai cultural heritage while also ensuring their marriage meets all Australian legal requirements. My name is Sharon Osman, and I have been a registered marriage celebrant for over 16 years. During this time, I have officiated more than 2,000 weddings across Melbourne, working with couples from many cultural, religious, and personal backgrounds. I specialise in multicultural weddings and understand the importance of cultural awareness, respectful communication, and ceremony flow when bringing different traditions together.
WORKING WITH THAI TRADITIONS IN AN AUSTRALIAN CEREMONY
Many Thai couples wish to include traditional elements such as family blessings, symbolic rituals, or cultural acknowledgements within their wedding ceremony. As a civil marriage celebrant, I am unable to conduct religious rites; however, I work collaboratively to respectfully incorporate Thai cultural elements alongside the legal marriage ceremony.
This may include explaining traditional customs for guests, coordinating ceremony timing, involving family members in meaningful ways, and working alongside monks, elders, or cultural representatives where appropriate. The goal is to ensure the ceremony flows smoothly and feels respectful, meaningful, and inclusive for everyone present.

In addition to creating and delivering your ceremony, I handle all legal requirements, including lodging the Notice of Intended Marriage form, guiding you through documentation, conducting the legal ceremony, registering your marriage, and assisting with ordering your official marriage certificate.
