I’m Sharon Osman a Celebrant of over 15 years and would love to not only officiate at your wedding, but offer you options, opportunities and possibilities that you might not have considered.

Backyard Weddings are suited for couples who love the outdoors, have a small guest list, want a uniquely energetic vibe, or wish to have their dream wedding without all the bells and whistles and keep costs low.

Regardless of whether you choose a quick legal registration from my office, just with you both & your two witnesses or something a little more special.

Why not consider saying “I do” in the comfort of your own backyard? Backyard weddings have soared in popularity because they offer intimacy, flexibility and significant savings while still delivering all the magic of a larger celebration.

With just 10 to 15 guests, every smile, laugh and tear is shared up close, and you have total creative control over everything from the ceremony layout to the menu without worrying about hidden surcharges or restrictive venue rules. I’ve conducted hundreds of backyard and garden ceremonies across Melbourne, so I know how to transform a simple lawn into a meaningful wedding space, positioning seating for perfect sight lines, arranging lighting for romance as daylight fades and weaving your love story and personal vows into every moment.

To prepare for your Backyard Wedding, you’ll want to mow and tidy the space, create a focal point—perhaps an archway or a fabric-draped backdrop—and set up a small sound system for your processional, vows and recessional music. It’s wise to plan for weather too, whether that means a marquee, umbrellas, fans or heaters depending on the season. Most importantly, your marriage must be legally registered, and I’ll handle every detail: lodging your Notice of Intended Marriage one month before your date, completing identity checks and declarations, and submitting your signed certificate to Births, Deaths & Marriages. You focus on your vows and your guests; I’ll take care of the paperwork and coordination, ensuring your backyard wedding is truly yours—relaxed, personal and unforgettable.

I enable you to still celebrate your wedding day and marry in style. You still get to walk down the aisle to music, invite close family and friends and pay a fraction of the cost you would normally be required to.

So, you get married in the comfort of your backyard and I take care of all the legalities, create a personalised ceremony and present it with grace and enlightenment.

You can even choose to go to near by garden and take as many pictures as you like, and either go off to a restaurant or home to celebrate…but at least you have the ceremony venue taken care of.
